Unity 101 Community Radio is inviting local people – especially small business owners – to get on air and share their stories.
The call-out follows our recent expansion on DAB digital radio across Hampshire and parts of Dorset. We now reach listeners in Winchester, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Poole – as well as Southampton.
Unity 101 is one of the UK’s longest-running community radio stations. Run entirely by volunteers, we’ve been on air for nearly twenty years, serving Southampton’s Asian and ethnic communities.
Station Manager Ram Kalyan “Kelly” said: “Unity 101’s motto is for the community, to the community, by the community. We’ve always been about giving local people a platform – and that includes you. Whether you’re a listener, a local hero, or a small business owner, there’s a place for you on our airwaves.”
Listeners can get involved in a number of ways, including:
• Live interviews
• On-air competitions
• Interactive phone-ins
• Becoming a presenter
For small business owners, we’re offering free interview slots in our popular Drive Time show. “It’s a great way for local entrepreneurs to reach new audiences and grow their presence – at no cost,” says Kelly. “It’s just one more way we invest in the community’s success.”
